A Little About Myself
First and foremost, I believe that everyone should strive to keep learning. I enjoy both teaching and being a student to others.
Good education requires creativity and passion.
I pursue my creative, educational, and professional endeavors primarily through the written word.
I have enjoyed reading and writing since I could hold a book. Once I started university, I fueled my passion by studying English literature, philosophy, and creative writing. During that time, I also wrote extensively for my campus newspapers and helped other students effectively communicate their own ideas by proofreading and editing their essays, research papers, and creative works.

Experience
I have been working for over a decade as a professional teacher, proofreader, editor, and writer. Since moving to Taiwan, I have also helped various businesses as a Chinese-to-English translator.
Proofreading and editing
I can work to a professional standard to proofread, edit, and format English documents in any dialect (US, British, Canadian, etc.). I am fluent in all major style guides and can create them when required. My experience includes supporting academics, ESL writers, businesses, and authors. I have worked with Proofed since 2020 and MDPI since 2023, which has broadened my interactions with varying clients and subject matter.
I have stayed up to date in these fields by taking an advanced grammar specialization from UC Irvine’s Division of Continuing Education, finishing the Becoming a Proofreader program at Knowadays, and completing English editing training from MDPI.
Writing
My background in English and philosophy, combined with extensive international teaching experience and a love for literature, has increased my ability to produce high-quality content across multiple industries including technology, creative writing, environment, education, and advertising. I can create engaging website copy, thoughtful blog posts, interesting stories, polished marketing materials, and much more.
I regularly write for the Knowadays Blog, Proofed’s Knowledge Hub, and various other digital publications. I am also working on my own novel and a few scripts for audiobook streaming services. I constantly look for new ways to craft imaginative narratives and am a member of the American Writers & Artists Institute and the Professional Writers Alliance.
Chinese-to-English translation
Living and teaching in Taiwan for over ten years has given me hands-on experience with Mandarin Chinese, and I have helped businesses bridge the language gap with accurate Chinese-to-English translations. My background includes creating bilingual menus for restaurants and translating instructional and marketing materials. I strive to ensure that the final English text is both precise and natural-sounding.
I bring valuable cultural context to each project, helping capture not just the words but the intended meaning. I focus on shorter documents where attention to detail is crucial, delivering translations that maintain a message’s clarity and impact for its English-speaking audiences.

Values
In every project I undertake, I am guided by a deep respect for language and its extraordinary power to connect, inform, and inspire. I believe that the written word serves as a bridge between complex ideas and human understanding. This drives my meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy in all my work.
I maintain the highest standards of professionalism through transparent communication, reliable adherence to deadlines, and consistent delivery of excellence. Having worked extensively with international clients, I understand the importance of cultural sensitivity in professional communication, and I strive to build lasting relationships based on trust and exceptional results.
I pride myself on delivering content that captures your voice while maintaining the highest standards of clarity.
